I was thinking about our first day of class when we exchanged stories of old injuries. I got counting and I have broken about ten bones, I've had at least 12 lacerations requiring sutures, had two cases of life-threatening pneumonia, was in a trucking accident, got knocked out cold and bit through my tongue in two places, I've been puked on, bled on, spit on, bitten by humans and animals, someone stabbed my arm with a fork, I've been burned a dozen times in various places, I damned near died going 90mph on a motorcycle by going off the road into barbed wire, I have narrowly averted a couple head on collisions, I lost my brakes in a gravel truck and went down the hill backwards until I safely came to a stop, I've been divorced twice, I had a 20 year Air Force career which often became quite dangerous, someone threw a Bowie knife at me once, I didn't have a car and had to bicycle to work at 4:00 AM, 15 miles many, many times when it was 30 below zero...(Oh...I won't even tell you what I had to dress in...electric/warming sox etc...) good lord!!! I could go on and on and on...I honestly don't know why I am standing here today. No wonder I'm exhausted and my old body hurts in the morning. Do you wonder if we knew what all we were going to go through when we first come into this world...would we want to??!! Ha, ha, ha!!!! Life is an adventure to say the least.
