I loved Dr Platt's thing last night...it was awesome!!! But...
She got pretty fussy when she did not have a microphone...or a clock...Ah! You see, that is the problem with egocentric artsey folks. (And not all artists are ego-centric but a lot are....it's like "Hey!! I'm here too!!!! My message is super important!!!").
I read her Bio and I'm pretty sure she's lived the typical life of an academic, which is fine, but somewhere in a person's life they should live like a homeless person saving writing instruments and lighters for the greater good of humanity as directed by the aliens from Gliese 581c. I was actually going to propose this to her last night but...the two times she looked at me there was paranoia, and almost anger in her eyes. I'm guessing she hates blond, slightly overweight, red shirt wearing dudes. Well....my red shirt could indicate "Red State..." meaning republican. And that would be hilarious because my political party is the "Whoever Gary thinks would be good as president" party. Or maybe she was just super busy...I don't care.
The bottom line is...she's fussy. I can't say this about all fussy people but the ones I have known in my life were fully capable of becoming good fascists...because they only see one side of an issue and propagate that side like a disgruntled coffee kiosk patron who got just a little too much milk in their espresso and proceed to berate the poor minimum-wage earner right there in front of everyone. Or I could be completely off-base here.
Maya Lin, however, is absolutely my new hero!!!! Bless her heart for standing up for Native Americans and Lewis & Clark in a peaceful, loving-kindness way!!!
