So...like the title says...no writing instruments or lighters. But I did get a lot of human smiles and friendly nods and cheerful Valentine's messages. So they, in essence, picked me up off the street and rescued me for a day. That was nice.
In the Air Force, we learned that warriors can be nice, friendly, compassionate people. In fact, you should never trust an angry warrior. Sometimes, we love each other in ways civilians cannot comprehend. Also, being nice and empathetic pays off. I conducted field, medical combat training once and that included a doctor. It was demanding but our cadre of trainers made it professional and not personal. People understand that. Still, when someone had trouble making it through the obstacle course, we took the time to help them...we didn't destroy their career, their means to make a living or their self-worth. That always pays off because that doctor had to check my prostate a year later.
People should always remember the lyrics to Twilight Zone...because it's easy to be an ass but not easy to be an ass "when the bullet hits the bone." That is an analogy for many, many things in life.....better to listen to Bhudda, Christ, The Great Spirit etc...
It's 2 am
The fear is gone
I'm sitting here waiting
The gun's still warm
Maybe my connection
Is tired of taking chances
Yeah, there's a storm on the loose
Sirens in my head
Wrapped up in silence
All circuits are dead
Cannot decode
My whole life spins into a frenzy
Help, I'm steppin' into the Twilight Zone
Place is a madhouse
Feels like being cloned
My beacons been moved
Under moon and star
Where am I to go Now that I've gone too far
Soon you will come to know
When the bullet hits the bone
Soon you will come to know
When the bullet hits the bone
I'm fallin' down a spiral
Destination unknown
Double-crossed messenger
All alone
Can't get no connection
Can't get through; where are you?
Well the night weighs heavy
On his guilty mind
This far from the border line
When the hit man comes
He knows damn well he has been cheated
Help I'm steppin' into the Twilight Zone
Place is a madhouse
Feels like being cloned
My beacons been moved
Under moon and star
Where am I to go Now that I've gone too far
