A Pallet of Negative Space

Oh lord!!!The funniest show in the universe...The British Peep Show , ...free on Hulu!! Kind of a humorous David Lynch production...the camera angles are so effective!! Funnier than shit!!!

Well, it's Sunday and my pallet partner has still not e-mailed his color pallet which was a graffiti painting and the only color I remember was yellow.

So...I put on Orgy's Blue Monday and pondered this dilemma. Unfortunately this is another case, repeated about 400,000 times in my life where I throw out the life string of human connectivity to someone and it is severed by any one of a multiple list of factors. I wonder, like the song Blue Monday says: "How does it feel...to provide me no working materials...for a project due on Monday?! How does it feel?...to treat me like you do??!!" Do you feel powerful, important, just some kind of sadistic pleasure? Are you just irresponsible...how does that feel? or do you just say: "You betcha" a lot when you really mean "Screw that!" How does that feel? Now I'm not upset or mad...just curious? Well...in the military we don't do this to our comrades. Maybe he feels nothing...ah, yes! The old peel back the onion and find nothing phenomenon of the Kardashian era. Kind of the yin to the yan of the African American soul, blues, and jazz era where, if you peeled back the onion...Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, and Robert Johnson would still be standing there.

I don't know...I grew up in a small town and a much different era. We whipped the Soviet Union without firing a shot and won the first Gulf War in the most one-sided victory in history. I think it was because we were mentored by authenticate Vietnam vets who knew about irresponsible people. (And believe...nothing will peel back the onion more than military service and especially war.) They had asked them in public forums; "How does it feel...to treat me like you do?" In the mid-90s they cut the most spectacular, capable, poet/gentleman warrior force in history in half. This was why most army dudes in the current hostilities had multiple, back to back deployments destroying their souls and their lives..."How does it feel?"

My son did teach me one very important lesson...sometimes you just have to say..."Screw it." Oh!! And he did have the most amazing taste in music and I have adopted much of his own music including Orgy.

So screw it...I'll come up with a reasonable, emotion-neutral, bhuddist/native American response for my project. First of all, always err on the side of the benefit of the doubt. You just never know about people. Something may have happened. The important part is I'm demonstrating to a young man how we older Americans won the cold war and kicked Saddam Hussein's ass through sophisticated solutions; without emotional responses like patriotism or anger, with very few American losses...not brute force. He may learn the lesson or he may not. I don't care.
