I finished my sculpture project last night and was looking forward to bringing it in but life changed the rules on me...again. Anyway, I put pictures of it in here and I followed my own rules on its production. I should bring it in to class tomorrow.
The theme is one of repulsion. Some scientists in the NY Times (I think) were discussing how human repulsion of the smelly, foul, and visually grotesque has led to survival of our species by preventing disease and enhancing personal hygiene. They said this aspect of our nature has been subject to disregard. (I put twice as much time into this as the class time I lost today to balance out the harmony of the universe.)
So...I took an old painting which I hated and made it 20 times more repulsive.... Front...
and back.....
