Boccioni
This dude Boccioni was a Futurist painter in Italy in the 20s. He did do this one sculpture below:
For some reason, I like the implied motion, the machine-like muscularity, the centering of mass and volume, and the huge blocks it's resting on to secure it firmly to the floor. It is titled Unique Forms of Continuity In Space. This style is classic for Italy in this time period and it truly is narrative as opposed to the review we had today in sculpture class. I think that I've learned this piece may have been far more appealing to me if I did not know it was Futurist and did not know its title. The intent of the artist may have no real bearing and maybe it should not in a free society. After all, the Futurists had an agenda; like Fascist artists in Germany and Constructivist artists in the Soviet Union.
